Weekly Blog 3/1

Dear Wines Families,
I don’t about your house, but my house was shaking during the thunderstorms last night. I guess March is coming in like a lion! Here is the news for this week.

March is Reading Month
March is Reading Month (MIRM) starts today! Students will be bringing home special reading log each Wednesday in their Wednesday Folders. Please return them the following Thursday when kids bring their folders back to school. In today's email I included a newsletter from Mrs. Evaldson with all the info about MIRM.

Wednesday, Nov. 8th Half Day
Next Wednesday, Nov. 8th is a half day of school. Our bell will ring at 11:53 that day. There is no after school childcare at Wines. Busses will run as usual leaving school around 12:00 or so.

Report Cards/Personalized Learning Plan Updates
During the half day of school next week, our teachers will be completing their report cards and updates on each student’s Personalized Learning Plan. Report Cards will go home in student backpacks on Monday, Nov. 13th.

Disability Awareness Workshop
Our annual Disability Awareness Workshop takes place on Thursday, March 23. We will need parent volunteers to help out with this wonderful event for our 4th grade students. You do not need to be a 4th grade parent to help! To volunteer, please use the sign up link  http://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080c48afaf28a31-disability

Any questions, please contact Jessi Averill 267-495-6208 or jessi.averill@gmail.com.

Wines Auction April 22
Just another reminder that the Wines Auction takes place on Saturday, April 22nd at Null Taphouse in Dexter. The event runs from  6:00PM until closing and will include both a silent and live auction. Proceeds from the event will help purchase a new play structure. Below is a picture of the new structure.

3rd Grade Concert
3rd grade families, just a reminder that the 3rd grade vocal music concert is scheduled for next Thursday, March 9th. The daytime show for the school is at 10:00 AM with the evening family show at 7:00 PM. Again this year, our PTO has hired a professional videographer to film the shows. You can purchase a DVD ($5) or Blu-Ray ($10) at the door.

That’s all for this week!

David
