Weekly Blog 3/22

Dear Wines Families,

I have a few important announcements today.

Wines Wahoo
The annual Wines Wahool is this Friday evening from 6:30-8:30 at Forsythe Middle School. We are still looking for a few more volunteers for the event. If you are able to help out, please click on the link below.

In honor of the Wahoo, Friday is Hawaiian Shirt Day here at school!

School Climate Survey
Everyone has by now received at least one email (likely more) from Dr. Swift regarding the annual school climate survey. I want to again encourage everyone to take a few minutes to fill it out. We do use this information to reflect on the things we are doing well and identify our growth opportunities. Please take a few minutes to fill out the survey.

Auction Tickets on Sale Friday
Tickets to the Wines Auction go on sale Friday. Look for a message on Friday with a link to purchase online.  Tickets are $30 in advance and $40 at the door. There are opportunities for scholarships. Please contact me directly for information. As a reminder, proceeds from the Auction will go towards our purchase of a new play structure.

That’s all for now. 4th grade parents, look for an email from me later with some specific information for 4th grade families.

Weekly Blog 3/15

Dear Wines Families,
I hope everyone’s power has been restored by now. Our school area was one of the hardest hit in terms of power outages and I know it has been a long few days for many in our community. MANY kids returned to school Monday looking very tired. Between power outages and the time change, our kids had been through a lot! Things seem more or less back to normal now.  I have just a few announcements today.

School Climate Survey
Everyone should have received an email yesterday with a link to a survey for families regarding your experiences at Wines. Like many of you, I receive lots of surveys via email. I just want everyone to know that we look at this data very closely. It helps us identify our strengths and our growth opportunities. The survey is fairly brief and I hope you take a few minutes to fill it out.

Disability Awareness Workshop - Last Call for Volunteers!
Our annual Disability Awareness Workshop takes place in one week on Thursday, March 23. We still need a few more parent volunteers to help out with this event for our 4th grade students. You do not need to be a 4th grade parent to help! To volunteer, please use the sign up link:

Are you NOT returning to Wines?
If you are NOT returning to Wines next year or if you are not sure, we ask that you please indicate this on the form below. For fifth grade parents, if your child is not attending Forsythe next year, please indicate that as well. Please fill this out even if you are not sure. The link is below:

Weekly Blog 3/8

Dear Wines Families,
Here is the news for the week!

Are you NOT Returning to Wines Next Year?
We are busy planning for next year already and we would like to know if your family is NOT returning to Wines next fall or if you are not sure if you are returning. If you are not returning or aren’t sure, will you please fill out the brief survey below. With our school near capacity, it is important we have as firm a grasp as possible on our enrollment. 5th grade families, please fill this out if your child is NOT attending Forsythe.

Are You Returning Form (use only if you are not returning to Wines or not going to Forsythe)

Advertising in the Auction Booklet
With the school auction just around the corner the Wines Auction Planning Committee is coming up with some ideas for the auction book/brochure. One idea is that we offer pages for Wines students, parents/family to advertise their business for a small fee.

Right now we are looking to see if there is any interest from people in this idea before we decide a) we go ahead with the idea and b) what the cost will be.
If you own a business and think this may be something you are interested in, please email: traciemcginty@hotmail.com

Speaking of the auction, proceeds from this year’s event will support the purchase of a new playground structure. Below is a picture of our potential new addition to our playground!
