Dear Wines Families,
The rest of this week and next week are quite busy around here! Although it is busy, this is one of my favorite times of year as we host one of our favorite student events (and a favorite of some adults…) with the Wahoo on Friday, we celebrate our parents at NAAPID on Monday, we welcome our new Young 5’s and Kindergarten students on Tuesday. Please read below for information on all of this and more!
Wines Wahoo Friday!
We are excited for the Wines Wahoo Friday! The event takes place at Forsythe Middle School from 6-8pm. Join your friends for music, pizza, open gym, crafts, a silent disco and more. Younger siblings and parents are welcome. Suggested $5 donation per family at the door with pizza, drink, and snack tickets available for purchase. This event is cash only, Venmo will be available but an extra fee will be attached. There are still some volunteer spots available.

Parent and Student Engagement in Planning for the Design of the New Wines
As you know, we have launched the planning for the design of the new Wines school that we will move into in 2029. While 2029 seems like a long way away, our current Kindergarten students will spend their 5th grade year at our new home, our current Y5 students will spend their final two years there, and our entire community will watch the new building take shape. Thus, this project is most certainly timely. In addition, the legacy of our school and the future of our new building is something we should all be interested in.
As part of the process, our design team of architects will be with us at NAAPID to engage parents and students in this process. Each grade level will take time with the team to learn and, more importantly, to provide important input as the design begins to take shape. Below is a schedule for when each grade will participate on Monday. We hope many of you can join with your child’s class on Monday.
9:15-9:45: 3rd Grade
9:50-10:20: 1st Grade
10:30-11:00: Kindergarten
12:45-1:15: Young 5’s
1:45-2:15: 2nd Grade
2:30-2:50 4th Grade
3:00-3:30 5th Grade
Kindergarten/Young 5’s Round Up Feb. 11
Please save the date for our annual Kindergarten/Young 5’s Round Up. We will host families and incoming students on February 11th from 6:30-7:30 PM. If you have a child who will be in Young 5’s or Kindergarten for the 2025-26 school year, please plan on attending with your child. If you have friends and neighbors with students entering our programs next year, please share this information. If you have a child entering Wines next year, it is helpful for us to begin to compile a list even before Round Up. Please contact Robin Moore at moorero@aaps.k12.mi.us and alert her.
Note: Current Wines Young 5’s students and families do not need to attend Round Up.
