Dear Wines Families,
Another busy week this week! Next week is our annual
Run-a-Thon on Friday. We will gear up for the event all week with Spirit Week.
A Run-a-Thon packet is coming home in today’s Wednesday Folder. Some classes
may have received their packets earlier this week. If you are volunteering or
joining us to watch next Friday, there will be a coffee truck from Bear Claw
(for adults only)! I will be sending out a running schedule for each grade later
this week or early next week. More information on the Run-a-Thon and other
items below.
Run-a-Thon Friday,
October 18th
Run-a-Thon pledges can be brought in on the day of the
Run-a-Thon or the following week in the envelope provided this week. Online
pledges are also available and are a great option for out of town friends and
families. The link for pledges can be found at: https://wines-elementary-school-pto.square.site/shop/run-a-thon/6
Proceeds from the Run-a-Thon will support purchase of a new
cart of 32 iPads and a cart of 32 Chromebooks that we hope to purchase this
fall. In addition, all proceeds from the 5th grade will go to
support their trip to Camp Tanuga in the spring. Finally, a percentage of our
collection will go to a local charity, Anna’s Kindness. Anna’s parents will be
speaking to our students on Monday at our Run-a-Thon Pep Rally. For more
information on this amazing organization, please visit https://annaskindness.org/our-mission-2/

Science and Builders
Fair Nov. 7th
Have you ever wondered why the tops of buses are white or
why raisins "dance" if dropped in soda? How do you make a pinwheel or
can you really make a dollhouse with scraps from around the house? These and
are just a few past project ideas to get you thinking!
Registration for the Science and Builders Fair that will
take place at Wines at 7PM on Thursday November 7th is NOW OPEN. To register-
just click on the link below from a mobile phone or PC and sign up!
Registration only requires your name, grade and whether you wish to register
for Science or Builders fair. Ask your kids to tell you what they
wonder about and welcome simplicity as you help guide them to create a
project!
Need an idea? There is a whole page dedicated to links
filled with websites on age appropriate ideas! To learn more, register or be

first deadline is November 1st.
The links for the Adult and Child application can be found
on the Wines PTO website: winespto.github.io.
Don’t let a great idea go to waste! Submit
