Weekly Blog 5/1

Dear Wines Families,

May is here. Hopefully the May flowers will emerge from the mud and puddles…
We have a number of items this week:

Auction Thanks!
The Wines Auction last Saturday night was fantastic! Thank you to everyone who was able to attend. It was nice to mingle with folks away from the school environment. BIG thanks to Michelle Chien, Tracie Clarke, and Amy Holland for their year-long effort to organize this great event. Thanks to Jon and Fran Carlson for allowing us to use the fantastic Jolly Pumpkin space in Dexter. Thanks to the many volunteers who helped set up, clean up, help with check out, etc. We couldn’t have done it without you! Below is a note from Michelle, Tracie, and Amy with more thanks and recognitions.

Teacher Appreciation Week May 6-10
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week. Our wonderful PTO has a great week planned for our amazing staff. Please see the flyer below with the daily events and how the kids can be involved. Tuesday and Wednesday are days when student participation is crucial.

Lunches with Love Success!
If you didn’t see my social media post yesterday, I want to again acknowledge our kids and community for another successful community service project. Our annual Lunches with Love project for Food Gatherers was great. We packed 420 lunches, donated 423 pounds of food, and raised $1,489.36 through our coin drive. Special thanks to Stacy Colias and Megan Hastie for spearheading this wonderful project and to the many parent volunteers who helped pack lunches last week.

Final Floor Hockey Game THIS FRIDAY
This Friday will be our final floor hockey game of the season. If your child hasn’t played, perhaps Friday they can come to see if this is something they’d be interested in next year. Big thanks to Kyle Turner for organizing the games each week and to Andreas Sidiropoulos who has also been a huge help.

Parent Input for Class Placement
Below is the link again for parent input for class placement. The link will be live until next Friday, May 10.

That’s all for this week. Stay dry!

David
