School starts at 8:47!!
Over the past few weeks, the number of students coming in
well after the second bell has exploded. Whereas at the beginning of the year,
I often struggled finding room for all of the students lined up in the morning,
lately the lines have been short followed by a large wave of cars arriving well
after the bell rings. It is critical that families do everything you can to
arrive on time. Our first bell rings at 8:44 and the second bell rings at 8:47.
We expect students to be in class by the second bell. While the drop off line
can be long, it moves efficiently in the morning if you arrive on time.
Students can be dropped off as early as 8:35 to line up.
Book Fair
Our Family Night was a huge success last night. Thanks to
everyone for coming out. The Book Fair continues through lunchtime on Friday.
If you would like to have lunch with your child and visit the Book Fair, you
can do so tomorrow or Friday. Also, parents are welcome to visit the Fair at
any time during the day.
Student Council Food
Drive
Our Student Council in collaboration with Food Gatherers is
sponsoring a food drive beginning next Monday, Dec. 12 and running through Dec.
22. Please bring in non-perishable items to help our community!
Girl Scouts Toy Drive
The Wines Girl Scouts are running a Toy Drive to benefit the
needy families served by the SOS Center (http://www.soscs.org/).
New, unwrapped toys can be placed in the boxes near the entrances to Wines
between December 1 and 16. They will be given to parents by the SOS
Center to make the holidays bright for their little ones. Thank you for
helping us give back to our community!
Winter Break
Just a reminder that the last day of school is Thursday, December 22nd.
There is no school on the 23rd and we return from break on Monday,
January 9th.
