Final Staffing Placements

Dear Wines Families, 

To follow up on my email from yesterday, I want to share with you the final staffing assignments for the school year. I also want to share a larger bio for our most recent addition, Anna Milanowski. 

This is Anna Milanowski’s eighth year in education. She holds a Masters degree from Northwestern University in Elementary Education and a Bachelors degree from the University of Michigan. Ms. Milanowski has taught lower elementary in Chicago, Evanston, and Detroit and has worked in bilingual settings in those assignments. Additionally Ms. Milanowski has spent time coaching other teachers in incorporating innovative technology in their classrooms. She has extensive experience with both Writers’ Workshop for young learners and with differentiating instruction for a variety of ability levels. In her free time she enjoys rock climbing, running and gardening and Anna lives right here in the Wines neighborhood! We are thrilled to have Anna join our team. Anna's addition to our school allows us to have three sections at each grade level. We do have a few grade level shifts this year as well. Below are the classroom staffing assignments. 

Kindergarten: Natalie Hickman, Shanna Middleton, Derek Toohey. 

1st Grade: Laura Carlin, Janeen Eckel, Susan Seely

2nd Grade: Angela Black, Marcia Gibbs, Anna Milanowski

3rd Grade: Cheryl Day, Samantha Yribar, Jessica Rodriguez

4th Grade: Paula Caruso, Millie Fisher, Nick Mosher

5th Grade: Neil Duggins, Janet Heaton, Julie Spiroff

Self-Contained Special Education Classrooms: Beth Hospadaruk, Heather Gray

While Cheryl, Paula, and Neil are moving grades this year, they will remain in their same classrooms. Anna will be moving into Room 113 which has previously been occupied by Heather Gray's class. Heather will be moving to room 114 previously occupied by Kelly Boone. Kelly, by the way, is teaching an Autism Spectrum Disorder classroom at Forsythe this year so she is still in the neighborhood. 

We also have one more exciting addition to the Wines family and family is certainly the right word! Please welcome Katie Moore as our new part time Teacher Clerk in the office. In addition to being Robin's wonderful daughter, Katie brings lots of experience working with children and her skills with technology are impressive to say the least. 

We invite everyone back to meet their teacher and classmates next week. As a reminder, our Kindergarten Meet the Teacher event will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 1st at 6:00 PM. Grades 1-5 will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 2nd at 3:00 PM. I will be emailing out class assignments later on those days if you are not able to attend the event.
